Columbia River Walleye Fishing Guides

Walleye fishing in the pacific northwest has exploded in the last 5-10 years. People travel from all over the country to try and track down the next world record which is predicted to come from the Columbia River somewhere near the Tri-Cities. Columbia River walleye fishing guides have been targeting these tasty fish more and more and the demand for guided walleye trips has grown tremendously over the last several years. Washington’s state record walleye was caught right in the heart of the Tri-Cities. The “trophy” time for walleye is in the early spring months of late January into mid-March. This is when the females are still full of eggs and at their heaviest point.

After the trophy season the walleye guides on the Columbia River will switch to more of a quantity or “eater” fishery. Targeting those larger populations of the males. With the thriving walleye population on the Columbia River anymore it's not uncommon to catch 40-50+ fish a day with the season usually lasting from April through the end of July. With the amount of walleye available to catch, and how delicious the flaky white meat table fare is, it's no wonder Columbia River walleye fishing guides spend 4 months out of the year targeting these fish day in and day out.
