Sockeye…. some would argue they are the best eating salmon in the Columbia River…. and we would have to agree. Sockeye are a wild fighting smaller salmon but they come in big waves which normally provides us with big limits sometimes up to 6 fish a person! When the sockeye show up the action is hot and heavy and lasts us from mid June in tri cities all the way until August up at the Brewster pool on the Upper Columbia River. With our sockeye season in the Brewster Pool at the mouth of the Okanogan River, it offers us the opportunity to catch summer king salmon at the same time with most trips providing catch of both sockeye and kings. Not to mention summertime on the Upper Columbia is gorgeous with lots of other vacation destinations available for after fishing. Surrounding vacation areas include Alta Lake, Lake Chelan, Wenatchee.
