Built on the migration

The Columbia Basin of Eastern Washington has long been known as one of the premier waterfowl migration corridors in the Pacific Northwest. With strong populations of resident Canada geese, migrating lessers, honkers, and large concentrations of snow geese throughout the season, the Basin consistently provides some of the best goose hunting opportunities in Washington State.

At Plughoff Outfitters, our hunts are built around daily scouting, understanding bird movement, weather patterns, pressure, and staying mobile throughout the migration. Spending countless mornings in the fields year after year has allowed us to build a strong understanding of how these birds use the Columbia Basin and what it takes to consistently stay around quality hunting.

Our goose hunts take place throughout the Tri-Cities region and surrounding Columbia Basin agricultural areas including feed fields, migration corridors, and major flight paths used by both dark geese and snow geese during the fall and spring seasons.

Whether you’re chasing spinning tornadoes of spring snow geese over large decoy spreads or working late-season Canada geese into the pit at first light, every hunt is designed around creating an authentic Columbia Basin waterfowl experience.

Hunters can expect professionally managed private ground, comfortable pit blinds and layout blinds, quality decoy spreads, experienced calling, and a hunt tailored around current conditions and bird behavior. Our goal is simple — provide hardworking, well-organized hunts while putting clients in position to experience some of the best goose hunting the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

From first-time goose hunters to experienced waterfowlers traveling in from out of state, we take pride in creating hunts that are memorable, safe, and built around the traditions of Pacific Northwest waterfowl hunting.

If you’re looking to experience Columbia Basin goose hunting at its best, we’d love to have you in the blind with us this season.

Meet your guide

For the past 17 seasons, I’ve guided goose hunts throughout the Tri-Cities and Columbia Basin region of Eastern Washington. This area is home to some of the best Canada goose and snow goose hunting the Pacific Northwest has to offer, and it’s where my passion for waterfowl hunting started at a young age.

I grew up hunting geese west of the Tri-Cities near the Mattawa slope. At 8 years old, I was laying in frozen wheel tracks covered with a white sheet, calling geese for my dad and his friends. Those early mornings in the snow are what built the foundation for everything Plughoff Outfitters has become today.

By the time I finished college, I knew there was only one thing I wanted to do — guide goose hunts. Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to spend seasons guiding in Canada during the fall and guiding spring snow goose hunts in South Dakota, experiences that helped shape both my hunting style and understanding of waterfowl migration.

Along the way, I became heavily involved in competitive goose calling, earning 3 Washington State Goose Calling Championships along with more than 20 additional contest wins and top-three finishes throughout my career.

Living and guiding in the Columbia Basin gives us access to some of the strongest populations of Canada geese and snow geese in Washington State. From lesser Canadas and honkers to large migrating snow goose spreads, this region consistently provides incredible opportunities for both dark goose and white goose hunting throughout the season.

Our hunts take place on carefully managed private land using comfortable, professionally built pit blinds and layout blinds depending on conditions and the style of hunt. If you or someone in your group needs a specific blind setup or accommodations, please let us know when booking and we’ll do our best to make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience in the field.
